Collidastate is a rediscovery of music between two best mates, James Padley and Graham Nisbet.
James is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Adelaide, SA and Graham is a percussionist and self-taught audio engineer from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Together the duo self-record their original music at a home studio on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.
Collidastate's debut EP Resilience was described as "authentic and heartfelt rock storytelling" with the debut single Out of Time receiving praise from The Point Music News as "a mix of quintessential Australian storytelling and contemporary rock - it's all there".
Their second EP is titled Seven Stories, and is the culmination of the duo honing their songwriting and production skills, taking them to a new level through their online coaching program with Benedikt Hain of The Self Recording Band.
Seven Stories creates both intimate acoustic tracks and full blown rock sounds across seven unique songs, each with their own story. Collidastate stay true to their storytelling approach, with themes that are close to their heart including stories of coming-of-age on outback road trips, positive mental health and mateship, and resilience through the challenges of life and the modern world.
